Infinite monkeys

The infinite monkey theorem posits that an infinite number of monkeys typing randomly on an infinite number of typewriters for an infinite amount of time will, almost surely, eventually produce the complete works of William Shakespeare.

Which brings us nicely to marking a year of writing The Cave.

Across 44,566 words, 150 topics, and some of the very worst photoshopped imagery you will ever see, we are genuinely proud of the consistency and longevity. The quality, well, you can’t have everything.

Writing The Cave involves reading 20-30 articles a week that are usually comfortably outside of what is technically required under the guise of running a comms agency. It is a practice that educates and enriches. Hopefully some of that comes through in the final product.

It is also - in a world where AI doesn’t so much encroach as loom like a final boss, ready to wipe away the joy of writing and the careers it supports - a welcome haven from sloshing around in slop.

This is now, admittedly, far too self-indulgent and self-referential to continue. So, we will end by simply saying thank you for reading - it really does mean a lot. 

We may not have quite nailed Shakespeare, and we’re still negotiating with Fair Work Australia on the monkeys, but we’ve got plenty of time. Stay tuned.
